Feed Well Feasibility Study

Project Summary:
The scope of the project is to conduct a feasibility study for the construction of a new permanent feed well system located at PIT 3 in order to feed mine water back to the Water Treatment Plant.
The design philosophy for the project is to install an electric submersible pump, housed in a downhole feed well/manhole to draw water from PIT 3 pond. An underwater feed line from feed well extend into the pond, attached is a feed box that sits above sludge level to feed water into pump suction.
Pump discharges up the well and discharge into a New 8” HDPE line to send water into Reactor Tank #1 at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) approximately ~2500 feet away.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Process simulated the station using VMGSim
- Sized and selected all major equipment
- Completed Hydraulic line sizing
- Provide detail engineering on the cofferdam
- Foundation and footing design for the pumphouse
- Model all piping inside the pumphouse
- Verified and approved all third-party shop drawings
- Piling sizing
- Produced all shop fabricated piping drawings
- Coordinated all Request for pricing (RFP)
- Provided a final project feasibility study report
